MIDI FX Chains built using Style Enhancer MIDI FX are powerful and flexible means of generating new MIDI data and playing back the existing one. We highly recommend you use them in your musical work by the following reasons:

1. MFX Chain as a means of generating MIDI data provides flexible control over a number of parameters of generated musical score. Such kind of chain obligatory contains Chord Generator and Line Generator that follow inserted chord progression or Drums Generator that generates drum notes according to its pattern. After generating the FX, Modeler FX is usually set to bring into score more realistic sounding. When a chain is adjusted for one song, it can be saved and used in a new one. So, having created chain once, you get your own Bass, Guitar, Brass or Drum "player" that is performing a score in the certain manner.

2. MFX Chain as Performance Modeling tool humanizes your own MIDI data recorded using MIDI-keyboard or created by mouse in Piano-Roll. Such chain usually contains AutoPhraser FX (that is aimed to insert Phrase Markers) and Modeler that provides all necessary performance nuances to your score. These chains are useful for the fast production of live solo tracks, when you don't remember which chain is in the track - you only record your solos, and MFX chain is doing all performance work. So, such PM Chain is your personal co-performer that, as well as generating chain, can be adjusted as you wish, and used in a number of your songs.

3. Moreover, new approach to using MIDI FX, realized in SE40, allows you to create "locally acting" FX. Depending on starting time (From parameter) and length of action (Use parameter), you can choose certain measures, where one or another must work. So, you can create a chain, for example, where Chord Generator #1 will work from measure #2 during 8 measures, but Chord Generator #2 will work from measure #4 during 3 measures (i.e. they can be overlapped in time). Or you can use Modeler #1 for measures from 10 up to 20 (one PMStyle), and use Modeler #2 for measures from 21 up to 32 (another PMStyle), etc. In a word you have a lot of freedom in creating MFX chain that you want.

4. SE4.0 project which is based on use of MFX Chains is the best technological decision when you have your song "not as a fixed sum of notes" but "as a set of parameters" (like non-destructive editing), that allows you in any time to refresh your project, to change even a single chord, or a number of settings and to get updated project for the new task.
